Babies and Chaos

Splash of Comfy Color

So I was recently over at my sister-in-law’s house and she had these gorgeous new pillows on her couch. I just had to know where she got them. Well of course she found them on Amazon. We all know pretty much anything you could ever want you can get on Amazon. Personally as a stay at home mom Amazon is the best place in the world to me. I can shop while Sky nurses and I don’t need to worry about a bra. I know you ladies know how good of a thing that is. And I mean look at these beauties! you want these for yourself just click on the picture and it will take you right to the purchase link!

I just had to share them with all of you.

They are the perfect pop of color and I’m thinking of ordering them for myself.  She recommended going with the 18×18 inserts to make them extra fluffy. Like these ones here: Mybecca 18 X 18 Pillow Insert Sham Square Form Polyester Premium Hypoallergenic Stuffer, Standard / White – MADE IN USA. The extra fluff is definitely worth it, they have been snuggle approved. And can I just say 4 pillows for around 30 bucks? Does it get any better than that?! If it does, I haven’t experienced it. Well hope you find these as adorable as I do and you decide to get them too!

Apples and Oranges

So I am sure you have all seen the videos going around about the parents who pulled terrible “pranks” on their kids for YouTube views. I put pranks in quotation marks because these went way further than any prank ever should. This is like the difference between toiletpapering a house and spray painting it.

If you want to watch the abuse click on the link above, but I must tell you it is awful. I was only able to watch about a minute of it before I had to stop. I cannot take when people are treated poorly. The only good that came out of this situation is that the children were taken away from their father and put into emergency custody with their birth mother.

Now we don’t know if this will be permanent or what will happen but it is a start. Things like this make my heart ache, not just for these children but the children who are suffering in silence. I would like to just take a moment to tell you all that you are the voice for children who have no voice. If you ever feel that something is not right please, please, please follow your instincts and tell someone.

While this whole thing has been going on and you see everyone condemning these parents (which I totally agree with btw) I am also see all these women bullying other women. Most prominently this new picture of the Olsen twins where they are not looking their greatest. I know they are in the public eye and that invites this type of criticism but honestly as grown adults don’t you think we should be trying to make a kinder world? Just because they are celebrities does not give us a free pass to be nasty. Just because they might not see our individual comment does not mean it is ok.

I must admit I am not a saint when it comes to talking about other people but I am trying to make a conscience effort to not be a bucket dipper. If you don’t know what a bucket dipper is, it is a thing to teach to children about how everyone has a bucket and we should be aiming to make it overflow with compliments and positive words but every time we are mean or hurtful we are dipping from their bucket. How Full Is Your Bucket? For Kids is a great book to teach children and ourselves about being a bucket filler rather than a bucket dipper.

Now I don’t want anyone to get the wrong idea and think that I am comparing this child abuse to this bullying, it is like comparing apples and oranges but you see they are both fruits. If we want our children to be kind adults who would never laugh at this type of thing then we need to show them that no form of hate is ok.
